Gloomy is a young zombie boy trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead. He is both a bloodthirsty undead creature and a mischievous young boy trying to find his place in this sunless world.
His goal: to sneak through the shadows, avoid the light and the humans who hunt him down as much as possible, and reunite with his soulmate, Nena.
Nena is a young human girl. She is the niece of the village chief, a ruthless man responsible for the systematic hunting of zombies. Much to her uncle's dismay, Nena feels no hatred toward zombies; quite the opposite... Accompanied by her loyal dog and using her lantern to light her path, Nena is determined to brave the dangers lurking in the shadows to find Gloomy.
